shooting star

My Favorites

A shooting star knows where to go, it opens up a moonlit show.

I sometimes wish that I could be like the star the light I see.

Wondering where the starlight goes as I hear the  northwind blow.

Whispers secrets inside my head, confusing thoughts creep up instead.

Who is this girl that I have become, where do I go,where am I from.

Time is but a fleeting thought, unlike something that can be bought.

An infinite moment which is just out of reach, I look out and see the star on the beach.

There's no more heaven and no more light,I close my eyes,my mind takes flight.

I think of all the things that could be, if only I could really see.

This  person standing alone in the night,Im sometimes blinded by the light.

It often comes to me in a dream, emotions left hidden so it would seem.

Im lifted up to soar to the sky,my feelings come out they all start to fly,

out of control they fall to the ground,Im left standing alone without a sound.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Indeed, the mood of the first 4 lines set and hint at the confused state of the reader... great rhymes too, Liz. Smilesz. Thoroughly enjoyable...and once again, u relate the metaphor so well to a situation/feeling.
