Kilimanjaro You live on the dark side of the moon,
where no light can warm your heart,
too remote to reach,
too cold to touch.
I live on the volatile side of the sun,
where nothing can survive my fire,
too close to release,
too warm to hold.
We fuck in an endless orbit,
running circles round our souls,
no way to embrace,
no way to break away.
And we love like the universe expanding,
doomed to collapse one day
among the ashes of our passion
or the splinters of our dreams.
This is really superb.
This is really superb. I mean REALLY superb! Although the f-word causes my eye to stumble, the rest of the poem is absolutely brilliant as both a poem and a metaphor. And to think I found this by random browsing on postpoems. Wow! What a poem!

I just re-read and I found splinters and ashes emotion meaningul and beautifully written - a soft landing back to Earth) No big bang? Can't have sci-fi endings all the time (ma bad). ~~A~~
