JUST ANOTHER DAY

It's just another day

nothing unusual about

it that I can say.

Without a doubt,

This is just another day

that I've wasted.

Never stopped to please

the Lord my God.

Didn't once get on my knees.

No, I didn't pray,

and I didn't tell anyone

about the Son of God,

and how He was crucified

for their sins,

and on the third day

HOW HE ROSE AGAIN.

No, I did none of that, today.

It was just another day.

I was to busy, today.

It was just another day

that I spent doing my own thing.

It was just another day

That His praises, I didn't sing,

and it's made me

extremely unhappy

with me.

It was just another day,

that's made God

extremely unhappy

with me.

It was just another day.

Author's Notes/Comments:

This one was published in Global Publishers' Special edition of Poets and Poetry a couple of years ago.  It was the first of my poems to appear in print (Unless you count the ones that were published in Carl Albert State College's anthology while I was a student there; which I don't).
