YOUTH of TODAY

I've listened to Labour Liberals and Tory,

But Who'll give this land back its Hope and Glory?.

As I look around i see nothing but sorrow

and I really feel for the Youth of tomorrow,

They are growing in a country thats losing hope,

Nobody is throwing them a Life-saving rope.

NO financial help if your 16 to 18 years old

BIG cutbacks in jobs Y.T.S and apprenticeships their told.

This age group have made the crime rate rocket,

could it be because they've no cash in their pocket?

If they cant get jobs to earn their own pay,

how can we stop them going astray.

Its got to be sad when a youth can remark

"Prison is better than sleeping in the park".

Students too are feeling the pinch,

they are just NOT given an inch.

At the end of term, during the school break,

NO time to study, they've money to make.

WHERE they can find work, no-one can say,

WHERE is the hope for the youth of today.

Your parents can support you, IF your that bright,

if not, to eat, you must find a job at night,

So sick of struggling when they get their Degree

they'll be only to glad to leave this country.

When they graduate can we honestly say

"you OWE us and its here you should stay"?

As we have Listened to Labour to Liberals and Tories,

Let THEM LISTEN to our young and HEED their TRUE stories....

Author's Notes/Comments:

the reason for this was from comment made from a homeless lad who said prison was better than sleeping in a park

This has a revolutionary spirit: "WHERE they can find work, no-one can say". Thanks for sharing. Salam
