Words

You are living now within my heart.

Somehow I must bring you to life!

You beg now to be released.

To live upon a page ~

to tell a story~

to paint desire~

to give hope~

to live

free.

Soon

freedom

will be yours.

Will you enchant?

Will you show beauty?

Upon blank page written

will you be born to touch hearts?

You are now but words within me ~

If I set you free will you touch souls?

Author's Notes/Comments:

Just a bit of fun with a Nonet.  I could find myself hooked on this form. It is a challenge to me to be limited to the amount of words I use.  Just could not help myself though (smiles)  Just could not get everything said in nine lines.  There is probably no such thing as a reverse Nonet but what else are you to do at three in the morning?  Smiles.  ~Lesa~

I learned something from you, Lesa.
I learned what a nonet is. I thank you for that.
I agree with what you are saying here too.
I love the idea of a reverse nonnet.

profound piece that says what poetry really entails. It fries me when someone refers to poetry as a womans "hobby" because it is NOT a hobby is is true emotion from the soul the soul on paper.....

Beautifully written. This poem reminds me of the potential that every word has and that words should never be misused. Great job! You are a wonderful writer and I am glad to have stumbled upon your work by accident.

Lesa;
Sounds like you do a lot of "night work" like me. I am up through the night all the time. On the computer, sewing or reading my Bible. This poem touched my heart.

Lesa, I love this! A poem for the poems you're presently writing and the poems you've yet to write.

Nonets are a blast for me to write as well. You probably figured that out during your visit to my hall here at Post Poems. LOL! I'm also unsure if there's a distinct name for a "reverse nonet" but I have seen the terms "snowball" and "melting snowball" in books about poetic forms; your second stanza here would count as a snowball as it starts with a one-syllable line then increases by one syllable in each successive line. A melting snowball is the opposite; the number of syllables decreases with each line. I'm certain a nonet is just a special type of melting snowball.

I'd call this piece a snowball fight maybe? LOL!

very good lesa! I am so glad to see you having so much fun with these word structures! wish I could find the time to spend on this kind of fun but am quite busy with so many other things right now... But do not fear I will always find time to stop by and leave a comment on your work.
Peace and love ~~~~ Dougie ~~

I got hooked on concrete (shape poems) myself. I just can't quit. Isn't it fun?
