I decided to name you Liberty

Beacause I wanted you to be free

I was thirteen

I was scared

When I told you daddy about you all he had to say was

"I am sure there are some back-door doctors in town that will take care of it"

He had forced me anyway- why would he be nice to you

Your name was Liberty

And I was far from free

My father was a very mean man

One day he beat me real bad

No one belived me

I was thirteen

I was scared

But I wanted you to be free

I promised you to protect you

But the next day I started bleeding

I never got to meet you

I want you to know I am sorry

Sorry for not being what you needed

Sorry for not protecting you like I should

This winter you would hae been 8 years old

I wanted to name you Liberty

But I never had the chance
