my heart is made of glass

thin like fairy wings

and you are a bull

in a china shop

or like katy's goat

smashing his reflection

in everything that glitters.

there are

consequences.

complications.

pain.

implications.

indications.

blame.

reservations.  

reputations.

games.

and you threw me careless

into a realm of hell you've never seen.

and when you wrought ruin and waste,

and then casually expected me to submit with grace,

you've lost more than just me.

perplexing.

frustrating.

infuriating.

i'm not here to hold your hand

and show you how to be my man.

i'm not waiting for some epiphany.

i'm gone.

i'm moving on.

and no amount of rug covering

white flags at half mast

ostrich heads in the sand

will ever change my mind.

if you decide to put down the rolodex of excuses

and pick up the tape and glue,

it's a long road, 

it's a hard road,

and you don't have a gps

or even a crayon map on a cocktail napkin.

and nearest i can tell,

you don't even know if you want to get off the couch.

i won't say it's impossible.

i won't say you can't do it.

i won't say you're in over your head.

i don't think i need to.

i don't think you want to.

so it doesn't matter if you say you love me

or if you're really sorry you fucked this up

and wish it ended amicably.

i'm tired of watching you stumble blindly

through wildly uncharted territory.

we're both writing on the wall,

mine in hieroglyphs,

yours in kanji.

i grow fatigued from anthropological speculation.

but don't worry.

i know closure.

i won't teach you.
