I'm getting too old for dreams
the way you mean it. Plans, future
endeavors, large projects - dreams.
The soul gets weary after so many
schemes accomplished, the uncountable
failures, the proposals left unfinished.

To dream perchance to inhale one
more time is the definition of looking
forward to work to be done. Weary
or not, the soul remembers dreams as
stars reflected from the eyes in mirrors
and the same reflected hope in the eyes
of those around me.

Oh lady A the last stanza
Oh lady A the last stanza holds a very personal memory in my heart! you have no Idea how this poem resonates in me totally! I knew I was in love while looking in the mirror. i heard the engine of his car humming up the road and I saw that sparkle in my eye as my mouth smiled so wide. it was my dream of knowing real love. since then we have been working on plans and dreams but Im tired now I just want to float back to those uncomplicated times when dreams were sparkles that lit the corner of my eyes... Gorgeous write!!! I can not say how much you have unwittingly drawn part of my soul in perfect likeness! tight hugss.
Don't let any one shake your dream stars from your eyes, lest your soul Come away with them! -SS

Glad Something Resonated
