I keep my feeling in a bottle
keep it under the bed
where no one can see
the pain or joy. Not
even me.

When I need a good feeling
I unscrew the bottle top
and fill the room with longing
or fulfillment. If need dictates,
"Darkeness now!" I unloose hate
with fear, distrust, and all
things ill.
.
Controlled and contained
I can absorb any feeling of choice
then put it away until need returns
and the bottle is reopened permitting
me to feel a range from clean and clear
emotional bliss or hell’s caress
once more.
