Obama Time

Folder:
Scitilop Politics

.

It is time
to write a serious
poem about the world
and the way people
live, but my
fingers hurt
thinking about
the world as it turns
and the people
gravitationally attracted
to it.

It is time to
vote again and I
do not really like
most of the candidates.
Obama, that's one,
but the rest require
serious study and I
do not feel like
my brain can take
much more.

I like simple things,
like a philosophy that
says keep it small,
simple, microscopic
works for me too.
If Obama wants more
taxes for, oh, anything,
I'll pay, anybody else,
get in line behind him
and I'm tellin' you now,
I like his big shoulders. I
can't even see you.

Dear Allets ( a.k.a. Stella )

I confess ... what I am about to write in here might seem ridiculous .. but ... how do you recite this poem ? .... I understand the style and the poem is well in sync with what you experience vis-a-vis the political system ... I get the rhyme and metre but I seem to miss something important while trying to to read the verses ... in all probability it's my mistake and inexperience ... but would love it if you could perhaps aid me in it.

How Read?

I read my poems loudly, precisely, and with enthusiasm. This one has very crisp t's and emphasis on endings. I write it, read it over aloud to capture the emphasis that matches the meaning - like an actor presenting a part. Reading IS a performance and i've read a lot over forty years to develop a spoken word form - You have to hear it to know.

No Sarcasm

I am pretty sarcastic, I guess, but no, I appreciate your advice on how to edit my name. The "Your name:" can not be changed. Also, I don't want to lose my relationships - I love my favorite poets and have to find them - Thanks, my friend, I wish you Peace and Joy In The Autumn - Lady A
