Enough

If I were to give you a thousand things that pointed to my love, would that be enough? If I were to set you into the heavens like a King immortal, would that be enough? If I were to cast your memory and place it in time like to be remembered as a beautiful sonet, would that be enough? When all things are done and this life revolves around again, I did these things to never forget you, engraved upon my soul to save us from destruction.

Your poem reminds me of ALL

Your poem reminds me of ALL the leaders who suffered ...almost sometimes...seemingly a 'suicide' for a cause they believed in. Liked it.

....

...and he asked her, "do you write poetry? Because I feel as if I am the ink that flows from your quill."

"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "

Someone has to be strong

Someone has to be strong enough to love more than the others.

So would it be accurate that

So would it be accurate that you mean to say that suicide and strength are synonymous?

...and he asked her, "do you write poetry? Because I feel as if I am the ink that flows from your quill."

"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "

When someone gives themself

When someone gives themself selflessly for the cause of humanity knowing the outcome I would say that it is like suicide in those instances and takes a great deal of strength to hold that kind of love.  I wouldnt say that suicide on its own is necisarrily strength.

Good enough is good enough and bad enough is bad enough, I suppose.  The destruction  that has been done is quite enough and you got to save yourself!  Short but expressive enough!

In the world of

sports, the coach say's "winning is never enough unless you always win"...

It is an improble thought much less a reality.

I like this poem, you have done very well, to cast that light on the doubt that relationships sometime foster when we invariably come to a crossroad.

There is a quote from one of my favorite poets, I have too many favorite poets.

"There are only two tragedies in life: one is not getting what one wants, and the other is getting it.”

Oscar Wilde

This work you have written reminds me, merely surviving is never enough, Sometimes the grind just breaks us down then into little pieces and even after all that, it is not enough, that's all there is. We can be judged and have fingers pointed at us. I guess it comes down  to being lucky, that we are fortunate enough to find someone who appreciates you as much as you appreciate them…
