Pardon for our Crimes

Don’t tell us what to say; we know what to do,

Voting for a criminal to slide in snake boots,

Your hissing and reprobation makes to silence debate,

No offering for a solution,

Creating problems, dressed in the art of rhetoric.

The word is that the war is left with right,

I’m ambidextrous and ambivalent,

With a mouth sewn shut, so I start a bonfire.

No lies can derail us,

A puppet’s wires spun, and spun.

Convince us of your reason; cannibals of national pride.

We work until our tendons become unravelled,

Victims of legislation, but our rights are read to us, forced to abide,

We seek shelter, but you offer a mass-produced following,

Your factory is industrial; we escape on digital enterprise,

The truth is what is mine is yours;

A criminal in a suit profits more that you, or I.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Old world poltics are falling apart. Left VS Right no longer applies - people's minds have expanded, information increased widespread. They're not serving their country, just wrestling to get back control.

Maybe i am naive but i feel

Maybe i am naive but i feel we can still have control and power over politics if we educate ourselves on the issues, and vote. Social media can be a great tool to hold those accountable for their actions, and maybe even shed light on issues that people are unaware of. Love this piece..but i still believe one person can change the world...Ghandi, Hitler, Mother Theresa  MLK....some for good some for evil...get imvolved in grassroots issues and u may be suprised at how many people dont vote because they dont underatand the issues, educate and empower. VOTE!

Indeed - I would much rather

Indeed - I would much rather cast a vote, have a voice, even if it means being discriminated against, in order to stand for something. A country that stands for nothing falls for everything.

Yup..very true. and if you aren't disable, gay, of a minority, or a genius---you can really forget it. Take from one who has lived it and found a way to be joyful despite it all.

Life is tough. Success is learning how to accept that, and be happy.Bold, honest, write---but then most of yours are.

"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "

My poems are like journals

My poems are like journals embedded with metpahor... :) some people complain that I'm never direct, but because what I write is about myself, in some form or way, I like to hide behind the imagery and give the reader a chance to decide.

Yes...a way to question the self through others' perspective. I totally get it.

I have edited the poem to something I think is a bit more tighter, perhaps bolder as you said. Let me know what you think, if you have the time.

"Your hissing and reprobation makes to silence debate,"---that's effing awesome. ...'hissing reprobation'. I think you may have coined a new phrase! LOL.

Haha glad you like. I'm much more proud of this edit. The first copy you read was more stream of consciousness, but I felt it needed fleshing out :)

Politics Unusual

Control as goal, wonderful in digital infomercial. Thought yesterday about how the battle is hard to see for all the messages incoming, and the large gvts know how to manipulate message and then predict behavior. (See Gerard Butler's latest contribution to tought displacement redirected to N. Korea as the enemy.) In any revolution, intellectuals are the first to die for outsidethebox thinking - you can't have control without barbwiriing thinkers as freedom. Love the expanse of this poe. It i no longer a left v right paradigm - We have conservative articulations and radicals the way we have uber wealthy and uber left to starve and die of curable, preventable diseases. That's what I was thinking yesterday ~Lady A~
