Rumble, ramble went the war drums on
fear shook the hearts of men
and fierce was the anger set within
for family and for homeland.

Rumble, ramble went the war drums on
and quiet stilled the air as
painful silence and earnest prayer
men made strong their final hour.

Rumble, ramble the war drums stopped
and men took up the chorus
in shouts of bravery and shouts of fear
and soldiers fought with sword and spear
as arrows marked the skies.
