Dedication

The cold nights, your wishes yet fulfilled,

Surge my heart with sadness and guilt

For the winters grasp of your Flipper man's soul.

I alone this boundary built.

But I, Neptune, take what's mine and that of my sea,

And no man shall tame my wants

For water is the place from where man first came

But, in peace, ne'er returned but once.

Years ago the beast you seek chose the life off land.

To be sure he'd not cheat us

With false promises rich

We etched an oath in the sand...

"Once ye leave the life of soil

And live amongst us fishes,

Your first duty is to me your King

And all the kingdom's wishes.

"To serve the men who try to live

In accordance with the sea

And all its rules and laws for men

Who'd rather fishes be."

So I hold the This Sailor in my wintry clutch

Until his duties are fulfilled

And obligations with other watermen are met

Despite the delays of the wintry chill.

But, I see your anxious, yet patient heart

And the longing you hold so tame

So he shall be relieved of this pact and its work

But, not quite yet it seems...

For another week he needs to be

Bound to the Ghosts and witches

Of sailors still yet blockaded from land;

Those still amongst the fishes.

So soon the gate shall be opened up wide

For you to come to see

The Sailor -the one who holds your heart inside

And me, Neptune of the Sea.
