so hard to know

as her eyes look onto the black night sky

a flash of light catches her eye

her gaze seeks pathways connected to her stars

she still believes in magic and steel guitars

where times reflection comes so closely combined

alone in the dark this lonely night unrefined

fight for a  deep breath, tear-filled eyes again dry out of sight
raising sights up to the sky, searching for that flash of light

she becomes a single image like stray words from long ago
pensively compelled, as she sighed pulled below in lost loves undertow

so closely combined where ever you are where ever you go
and now like her love, the stars are so hard to know
