I need to feel something

Any little thing

I need to feel a beat

I want to feel and sing

So if I cannot feel joy

Love, rage of rain

I choose something I can enforce

I choose pain

The blade isn't sharp enough

To make my heart beat

Or stop it otherwise

It wasn't such a feat

I cover my newest feelings

The newest pains on me

I cover up these scars

With a woolen sleeve

I want to cry it all

Shed a single tear

But the pain is so familiar

You won't find any here
