Stubborn Flake

I walk a path near every day

The same worn path that runs my way

I journey on, both down and back

This tedious bit of lonely track

Mundane perhaps, but peaceful - still

Routine makes life predictable

And so continued, dull but nice

Until a flake (unwelcomed spice)

Fell into my soup of life

And told me that (from in my vat)

He didn't like the flavor!
