Why does everything have to be about you?

The way you dress, or how you tie your shoes.

It's like time slows each time you drive by,

The way you laugh, and when you cry.

If only I could join you there,

To watch you sleep or comb your hair.

Life wouldn't be so crazy,

I'd have something,

I'd have you baby.

Why do things have to go by the book?

So many things could be right with just one look.

I can't tell who you are if you hide.

Those things can't define you,

Why do they have to ride you?

It just isn't right seeing you like that.

Your eyes full of tears,

So many lost years of your life.

Just please tell me that you won't give up yet.

Please tell me that you're not through.

Because I'm not done with you,

nowhere near done with you.

And if you leave without saying goodbye,

I won't need to cry,

Anymore.

If you leave without saying goodbye,

I don't need to cry,

Not for you,

You drowned yourself in tears already.

I'll just want to know if you're steady.
