POETRY CAN BE WRITTEN ON A COMPUTER

Folder:
POSE AS PROSE

“You can’t write poetry on a computer.”  That’s a quote I read courtesy Quentin Tarantino and I’m left wondering how often he has tried.  I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love my spiral notebooks; just filling the pages with random thoughts and ideas that occasionally mutate into poetry.  It’s just that it seems dangerous to make blanket statements like that sweep things into generalizations.  Poetry can be written on a computer, on a napkin, or even on toilet paper.  We always have to allow for differences in approaches.  One way should not be automatically declared better than another.  Dangerous assumptions and broad generalizations are not by nature a very good friend to poetry.
