I’ll be your friend, no matter what,

Even when it hurts too much.

I’ll smile when your old love comes around,

And hide the silence where my tears are found.

Through every laugh, through every call,

I’ll stand beside you through it all.

You’ve moved on, and I pretend I’m fine,

But part of me is still stuck in time.

You live inside my heart’s quiet space,

No one else could take your place.

I say I’m happy, and maybe I am—

But loving you still feels like who I am.

If life should pull us far apart,

You’ll still live softly in my heart.

And though I know I should move on,

The truth is... I’m still holding on.
