One Poem Every Day

The door swings open

But I cannot leave

My breathing relaxed

My body restless

I am bound

To my chair

The adventures I could be having

Are lost

In the darkness of forgotten possibilities

The vortex of "what if"s

My mind fights my mind

So discontented to stay

But stay I must

Stuck fast to my black chair

Tied to my boredom

The log that keeps me afloat

As it, caught up in the current

Take me down the river of madness

And off the cliff,

Plummeting down.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I'm tring to do this thing where I write one poem every day (can be free-form or rhyming). This one I wrote on July 29, 2014. I wrote it when I was bored.
