Note: Matsuo Basho was one of the greatest Japanese
‘haiku’ (hokku) poets. While there is much debate
among poets and scholars about haiku, I find the
freshness and flexibility Basho brought to his art
an inspiration. In turn, for me, writing haiku often
revives my artistic juices.

In my last job I worked with women from Southeast Asia and one of the women who I became friendly with told me of how she came here. She said to me once, "why are you men all the same? Always treating us as sex objects... " Then she told me this story... ~~redzone
