Ramblin' King

Take the crown off the weary head,

Of this rambling king.
The music, women and whiskey-

Have ruined my being.
The worries pass through this racing mind,

Like lines down on the road.
My heart beats like a bomb,

Ready to explode.

Take the chains from the weary heart,
of this rambling king.
No love can be made-

With a one night fling.
My dreams will fall like the ashes from

This midnight cigarette.
a future, like a past

Full of hurt and regret.

And the lost highway gets dimmer everynight-
and I’m hoping I can see the light.

The hope shall come like the church bells ring.
and I’ll lose the haunting woes of a rambling king.

Take the tears from the weary eyes,

Of this rambling king.

The painful hurt and woe

That my vices bring.
The memories pass through this racing mind,
as the distant stars will glow.
I bow my head in shame,

As I feel so low.

And the lost highway gets dimmer everynight-
and I’m hoping I can see the light.

The hope shall come like the church bells ring.
and I’ll lose the haunting woes of a rambling king.

Take the cash from the trembling hands,

Of this rambling king.
I try to earn it back,

Every time I sing.
The wonderment of tomorrow comes,

Time and time again-
For many nights alone,
Thought I was the end.

And the lost highway gets dimmer everynight-
and I’m hoping I can see the light.

The hope shall come like the church bells ring.
and I’ll lose the haunting woes of a rambling king.
