You learned to forget

You learned to speak up

You learned to listen

You learned to forgive 

You learned to love

You are strong

You are passionate

You are open-minded

You are care-free

You are lovable

Baby girl,

You are a light that shines like the sun 

Even in dark times

You illuminate like the moon

Baby girl,

What a beauty you are

The love you carry erases all pain

When all you received was hate 

You built a gate

Open for anyone's disposal

Closed for anyone who isn't noble

Baby girl,

You water their roots

And watch them grow

Into beautiful roses

Those who were willing to open the door

But even though you guard your love

Some manage to jump over the gate

Thirsty for water

Hungry for care

Taking but never giving

It's hard to not give them sun

You have to watch out for the poisonous ones
