When Light Leaves the Soul

Folder:
Old School

In a timeless end of this path

The one where we had met

I knew from the start we'd be boys, blood brothers for life

A place in you I found to confide

The times where I need your guiding spirit

To light the path of my own darkness

A time in need to help me find solitude

The spiraling hands have you now

On a downward flight toward your doom

The angel that had once watched over you

Left you dead and broken, and all alone

You can't fix what you destroyed

Your own hands covered with blood

The memories instilled in your mind

Will forever haunt your gaping soul

My fear is becoming of you

Changing into something you're not supposed to be

But what am I to say to demons who bark orders at you?

What am I to say to a dog, who listens to irreverant requests?

The facade you put on is but an illusion of your true self

The game you once played, is now playing you

This is your reward, the vengeance of addictions

Too dark to shine the light

Too black to try and color it in

Where are the gold pieces that you held so dear?

Gone away now

Treasuries that are distant

Fake gold to keep your desires tied over

You are one amongst the denied, the unthinkables

You no longer hold a place here

Hallowed be thy name

In vengeance, you will get your release
