A Day of Love

A day of love, coming our way, make every day, the same OK

Give and show, the love you share, be the one, take good care

Make the smile, spark the light, make Cupids bow, pull back tight

Big red hearts, hugs and kisses, make it real, sweeten up the thrill

This week and month, all the same, Valentine’s Day, love the game

Be my Valentine, lover to, hold them tight, like you do

Fun and laughter, yes we love, from the heart, where love starts

Bring the happiness, like you can, make it right, for that women or man

Love is flowers, more than that, love can shower, that is that

Be the best, nothing less, love your Valentine, make them shine

This day to play, February 14, make it more, let love soar

Sweet like candy, you can be, all around, for all they need

Happy Valentines, to all I say, keep on loving, everyday..

This day of love makes the world go round, without love, there's nothing in life, I don't think twice..

"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "

Aw.... That's sweet.

Aw.... That's sweet. Personally, I kinda stopped celebrating the whole valentines thing years ago. Seemed like I always got my feelings hurt. So, I decided that everyday love is better than one, just on February the 14th. I liked the poem. Maybe one day, that day will be a special day for me. We'll see.

I have done that with all

I have done that with all holidays. I started with Christmas one year. I still will wish people a happy day, and i still even send cards here and there, and accept them to be gracious, but one year the truth hit me very hard about how totally schized out society is when it comes to holidays...and especially christmas. Waaaay too much fakeness. I also realized how much the lie about Santa Claus molds many into thinking lies are "ok if there is a good reason to lie". What is that, anyway, that we woukd allow something to manipulate us so fully to lie to our children and tell them it's perfectly fine???

And Valentines Day.... oh now that's a whole other story...but I encourage others to charge on...because by doing so is how it will eventually tumble down on them in the end, like all other truths do.

So in that, i see a great purpose for what you saw as "hurts".

You're damn decent in my book, Lynn.

Aw. Thanks nightlight! You're damn decent yourself. :)
I call it, happy day of the beheading. I agree on the Santa Claus thing (not to mention the Easter Bunny and tooth faerie). What a terrible thing to instill. And they're lied to about it for years. Must be hard raising a child not to believe when the majority of the other kids are being tricked. Shame on us as society!

Now, I must say, there is one holiday that my mom made special for us that I still enjoy the idea of. On St. Patricks day, she would put green food coloring in everything. Green eggs and ham. Green butter, green milk. Green everything. It was so much fun to believe a leprechan did it.
