I Wonder,When did we fall out of love

`I Wonder

when did we fall out of love

fifteen years is a life time

I remember

walking hand and hand

talking about life

making plans

now it seems

we`ve grown apart

you have your friends

and i have mine

we have`nt done anything together

in such a long time

separate beds

seperate rooms

far from a bride and groom

i guess

we stay together

because that's the right thing to do

but it `s been a long time

since there was a me and you

I wonder

when did we fall out of love...

Sounds like a large slice of my past, decades ago.  I married my (chronologically second) best friend, and found out all too soon that we were better at friendship than romance.  We were both too sheltered as children, and too naive as adults.  This poem powerfully reminded me of that debacle.
