A Love Story

There was once a woman,  so deeply in love,
you could see the love all over her face.

She would travel everyday to see her love
as he worked long hours to save the money
they needed to buy her freedom so they could marry.

She would carry his lunch to him everyday up on the high
cliffs where he worked but this day she did`nt see her love
before he had fallen from the cliffs above.

Every day she would pray, she would look out into
the water calling out his name, but one day his name
she did not call for she went to the same cliff and
took her fall.

For now they are together for evermore but their voices
people can still hear when the night is warm and the
skies are clear.

They say their vows to one another and the love they
shared are theirs again ,they will be together for eternity
their love will be without end.

And if you visit that cliff in the still of the nite
when the sea is still and the stars are bright if you
listen close you can hear them call their words of love
before they took their fall...

Author's Notes/Comments:

I almost cried, what a sad and haunting poem, but with them together is it a happy ending? Thanks for dropping by.

Is this kind of a female version of Humpty Dumpty..That is the impression it made on me..
