A Child Waits

As dawn breaks over hazy hills

A little light emerges slowly

Fraught with tension

And shielded with pain

Catapulting worries and shame.

Lost to love and lost to night.

A little girl waits full of fright.

She waits forever until this day

To wait some more and to pray.

Have a heart, have a care,

This little girls’ sorrow fills the air.

Her mind has wondered to last night

When she had hoped with all her might

For that angel sent from heaven's door

To come and claim her and take her to it's shore.

Nice poem.
Thank you for visiting and commenting on mine.
Funny coincidences...I am from California, we had a wolf, and my favorites things are angels:-)
