The Flame

Turning down the sheets

Tonight feels like it's going to be the last time

You and I find you and I

If ever I said I couldn't wait

Well, honey, this time tonight, I want to

'Cause come morning, we'll set us loose

We were the flame

Moth's drew near to

The one's others envied

Witnessing the what we grew into

So, honey, hear the simple truth

I give, and give to only you

When the wind blew

We thought our passion grew hotter

So, we lied and tried to fool each other

And, as the embers released

The desperation deepened and smoke plumed

As yellow overtook the fire that once flamed blue

As the dusty wings fluttered

The love inside lover's cover was blown

Until you and I were no more

Until you and I were shown for

The great expanse we once fought so hard

To close together

To find each other

So, now that's it's been torn further than before

All we can do is watch the moth's scatter

So, tonight as I turn down these sheets

I pray the heat we find, is never surpassed

In this our last dance towards flameless forever
