Oh, Freedom

Angry like wild horses
Corralled and shoed
Kicking up heals
Bridled or not
Freedom be stole
Like mud turned dust

Spinning in circles
Overhead, spying vultures
Eyeing the earth
For life turned over
The dampened flesh
And, eloquent supper

Oh, Freedom
Ain't no Freedom
Don't you dare
Go, Freedom
Without me

Turnstiles and clickers
Counting
Rushing passerby's
Strangers
Without eyes
Catching another's

Oh, Freedom
Ain't no Freedom
Don't you dare
Go and leave
Without me

Oh, Freedom
Ain't now this your season
Dare you
Go lead them
Circling feathers
Wild and untethered
To me
