Oh, to create a picture

For the memory you may have forgotten

To spark an ember whose light slowly softens

As it floats softly towards the sky



I still have the paper you gave me

With words you used to explain how you felt so safe

And how if it were up to you, you’d stay for ever

In the autumn chill, in my sweater

Well, I haven’t forgotten

Cause from that moment on, I haven’t so safe either



And in the picture that I make

I pray for your happiness

And your strength in times of weakness

In times of weakness

In times of doubt where feelings shatter

Oh, don’t you know



That no words could explain

The truth of what’s happening

Of these feelings

Oh, I hope you know
