Jack And Jill (The Perfect Tragedy)

Folder:
2005 - 2006

These fingers burn

I keep writing down memories

Turning over and over regrets

With no possible way to change a thing

Tell me why then, if I could get to sleep

Why I’d dream it all differently

Her name was Perfectly

Spelled unlike mine, Tragedy

Unspoken, yes, it usually goes that way

One-sided, the scale of love tips

The heavier heart hits bottom

The lesser love hovers away

Regret separates the two like night and day

Fell in love

Two kids of less than twenty

Impulsive action speaks harsher than truth

Far too much to handle, let alone defuse

And in the catastrophe the smoke did plume

Shadowing the sweet green of youth

Everything, well, it went downhill

And as Jack rolled away, Jill stood there weeping

He, knowing the climb was too high

She, the same, the descent much too steep

Her name was Perfectly

Spelled unlike mine, Tragedy

Unspoken, yes, it usually goes that way

One-sided, the scale of love tips

The heavier heart hits bottom

The lesser love hovers away

Regret separates the two like night and day

One-sided, the scale of love tips

The heavier heart hits bottom

The lesser love hovers away

The will to meet in the middle

Separates the two like night and day

These letters and words burn

Jack hasn’t the intellect to up and learn

Jill lacks the courage to just open her eyes to see

Sitting here I still find it hard to believe

That sitting on top of the hill remains that empty pail

Meant to be full up of dreams that now will never be
