Everything To Everyone

The wind's blowin' hard outside

There's music in the trees

And you're somewhere on the highway

With the wheel between your knees

Just drive your car and come on home

I said, drive your car and come on home to me

And you're everything to everyone

Still you just can't see

That when you're everything to everyone

You're pulling at my strings

And one day I hope that you will see

I said, I hope that one day you see

That your anything is everything to me

The clock it's tickin' one by one

There's rhythm in my room

And you're out there making millions

Your voice we'll all hear soon

Just chase the dreams that you hold

I said, chase your dreams and they'll come true

And you're everything to everyone

Still you just can't see

That when you're everything to everyone

You're pulling at my strings

And one day I hope that you will see

I said, I hope that one day you see

That your anything is everything to me

I never got the chance to say

That when you leave home

Don't forget about me

I never got the nerve to say

Don't leave me here alone

Without you

And you're everything to everyone

One day I hope you see

That when you're everything to everyone

You're pulling at my strings

And one day I hope that you will see

I said, I hope that one day you see

That your anything is everything to me

And one day I know that you will see

I said, I know that one day you'll see

That your everything is everything to me

This poem has great rhythm. There's a great pull between letting go and holding on. Arguing with yourself and your wants vs. what you want for them. Such a good topic. Keep writing. PS - I'm a Christian, too. :)
