I sit at the table of lies and deceit
Unimpressed by your "miraculous" feats
The stories change, but the moral repeats
Sigh & nod; mentally delete

In your own mind you're God almighty
If you say so, well then alrighty
Your self impression - so neat & tidy
But you'll be full of shit still, when you're ninety

So what should I do with you my friend
Should I stand at your side until the end?
Should I never falter & never bend?
Should I allow my heart to mend?

The less I said, the more I learned
My trust indeed, you almost earned
But when I fell you weren't concerned
And now our bridge has long been burned

You're a backstabber de jour & I almost missed it
Previously predicted and unassisted
The knife still in, you laugh and twist it
As easy for you as buttering a biscuit

Over a decade since I wrote a poem
But ain't that hard when the subjects - you know 'em
Chance after chance, they always blow 'em
But revenge is sweet when you always show 'em

When you're crying because you don't have a buck
When all your feathers keep getting plucked
When the tables are turned and you're shit out of luck
You'll find that you wish I still gave a fuck...
