lost diamond

I wish I could have known you

But I never had the chance

Wish I could have seen you

One last time before you left me behind

I call ourselves ‘friends’

But that’s only what I wish we were

There could have been something

Between us, but it wasn’t meant to be

If only this wasn’t so difficult

To just let things go and accept this

If only things could have turned out for the better

You’re the lost diamond, never had a chance to shine

It’s nothing now, just like it was before

It’s all empty now, and that’s how it’ll always be

Never could grasp, never could shine

Seperated away from all that’s divine

I bet you don’t think about me, the way I do about you

You’re fine with your life, but mine is forever incomplete

I love the last line of the poem... it's a scary thought, though.
