In the silence of the night

I wake to the darkness and I feel the terror

That darkness sometimes brings.

But when I finally realize that you are there beside me,

I know I'm safe in your embrace,

And my heart sings.



Then in the quiet of the night,

I hear your heartbeat.

I can feel your arms around me-warm and strong-

And I know there isn't any terror in the darkness

When I'm with you, safe in your arms,

Where I belong.
