I walked slowly to the door

smoke flowin' out

around the top

and near the floor

hesitant to push

but anxious to see

what all this is about

just what could it be

the scent lingering was very familiar

to me

so I don't feel scared

whatevers inside

will welcome me

so I pushed the door

open real wide

OH SHIT!

CAN'T BELIEVE MY EYES!

IT'S QUITE THE SURPRISE!

familiar faces

stoic in their places

yet their mouths never stopped movin'

muffled voices entangled

2 steppin' it just groovin

I look around

hearing familiar voices

shake my head cuz there's too many choices

Alumni, in btweeners, and new b's alike

standin' in lyrical circle

blessin' the mic

I didn't feel sad

that I din't receive a formal invite

cuz I knew they knew

I do my read by's by night

so here I am ready to take my

place in this circle

but seems some others are missin'

but I know they'll be here soon

cuz Raila and Soulyricist

are on the POET'S WANTED Poster

being handed out by Strawberrylagoon

so I know like U know that this

gatherin' is tight

and we'll be up

long after daylight

has come and gone

and

went and came

cuz we all for

one thing

it's all the same

we are the seasoning

for a bangin' ass poetic stew

ah yeah

it's gonna be the best stew

U've ever tasted

cuz talent up in this piece

could never be wasted

so

get the roll

and sop this shit up
