Watch

Watch the silhouette of a heart torn to pieces.
Watch as the beating stops, as the blood runs dry.
Slowly it had been fed lies, treachery, and fear.
And from it, a castle of glass had been built.
Here laid the promises of a life shared by two.
Of a king and queen, hand and hand together.
Only at the throne, a corruption had grown.
Its vines had grabbed ahold of every corner.
Cracks swept through colliding with one another.
A stream of poison began filling in the spaces inbetween.
Like a windshield shattered, the spider’s web took hold.
From tower to tower, the barriers came down.
From wall to wall, the innards became exposed.
And as the lies that once fed this heart became revealed,
The stream had became a roaring river.
And this heart once fed, had become a feeding ground.
For the poison to take its hold, for the truth to take its toll.
In the shadows I had stood watching as my castle fell.
Three years taken, three years stolen.
And as I search for the pieces to put them together,
The rain continues to pour for what seems like forever.
In the distance I watch as the life I once knew is washed away.
Lost among the tide, it had gone astray.
Watch the silhouette of a heart torn to pieces.
Watch as the beating stops, as the blood runs dry.
