"Metaphorically Speaking"

Watching the highlights on the news reel

The tightening noose feels so real

Whispering secrets to a ghost

Arousing the curiosity of the host

Raising a number of questions

Quoting some verses from ancient lessons

Using them as a last confession

Sitting alone with a gun and an obsession

Having in-depth conversations

Dead eyes reveal their observations

Proof with no substitution

Fighting to survive in destitution

Hidden in the middle is a precious jewel

Held in the hands of a malicious fool

A tool used to break humanity down

Bribing the weak to let it drown

Concoctions of promises mixed with lies

Starting a war with expendable lives

History must repeat

Or the system will suffer defeat

Intervening where necessary

Pretending to be friends with an adversary

Agreeing with the majority opinion

Walking aimlessly through the puppeteers dominion

Forced into a reaction

A concept of fear with a fatal attraction

Drawn off course by a tempting distraction

Clever distractions designed by the faction

A believable play on words

Taken literally by the herds
