Nightmare

Dark Poems Last night I had a dream,
And in the dream I was crying
And full of anger….I tried to scream,
But no sound came out.
The tears in my eyes….they
Just wouldn’t fall.
With all of my might I screamed,
But my screams were carried away in the wind.
No matter how loud or how much I cried,
The tears wouldn’t fall and my screams were unheard.
No one could hear me,
No one could see my pain,
No one would know me.
The rain poured and the clouds
Blocked out the moon’s glow.
Thunder pounded and lightning cracked.
Not a scream was heard,
Nor a tear dropped.
But the pain still remained there,
In my frustrated sleep….my nightmare.
To be ignored or forgotten
By those you deeply love,
That is my nightmare.
