I thought we were the one
But we just turned out to be
Two lost souls trying to force a fit
Anger clashing with confusion
Mutually discontent and ultimately disappointed
Not what we wanted
But maybe for now, for the best
Turn around and walk away
Walk forward and make yourself forget
Beat drums to keep a steady pace
Eyes closed, placing footprints ahead
Chasing pavement to hit concrete
Facing brick walls too high to leap
Pull ourselves up and jump off the ledge
We land on separate planets
Still facing the same sun
Just enough to make us think we are the one
Pain lies in this fifth second chance
Look the other way, forget the one.
