Eels Beneath the Tempest

Like eels creeping thru the briny deep

In search of a welcoming crevasse

To share with one another

Safe haven from the tempest

Above

The world of land

Etching its temporary path

Like a wrinkle on Mother Earth's face

So we seek security

In the arms of one another

Wrapping our forms around one another

Like bioelectric tentacles

Mouths engaged

Exploring the taste of safety

Until the storm passes

And once more

We part, only to await reunion.

Author's Notes/Comments:

It's a love poem, sure, but it's sufficiently quirky so as to not make me nauseous.
