The Newly Dead

Guest of honour at the ceremony

Grand marshal of the parade

The newly dead are on their way

So make a way

They'll lead the way

They

The recently enlightened

Shall be commended in some way

These were our mothers. brothers

Forgotten lovers

Allies, rivals, and mere acquaintances

Remember the best parts

And the tears you shed will be warm

We shall honour the newly dead, my friends

And then dispose of the body

Author's Notes/Comments:

You must admit...most funerals are rather dull affairs, designed to make the living feel less guilty for not dying first.
