Flowetry

It’s said that Poetry is dead- Well here’s the reincarnation,

A different set up of the words- For the new generation

A totally different breed of Poets- Writing with a rhythm,

Raps without a beat- Using euphemisms.

Our pain is expressed and or anguish is acknowledged,

But using everyday words- And filling them with knowledge.

Sentences form bonds- And they make much more sense,

It’s not the “classic” style of Poems- It’s hurt at our expense.

We don’t use un-needed words- Trying to paint an image,

Either you see it or you don’t- But we have no limits.

It’s not about the birds and the sky- Or about the wind and trees,

It’s not about the beauty of Life- It’s not about being pleased.

It’s the harsh reality of a Life with pain- Facing your fears everyday,

Like having your dad walk out on you- Or having an un-born brother taken away.

It’s about telling stories of the street Life- To those who have no idea,

Expressing the pain of this constant fight- Realizing that it’s real.

This is for all the people who have ever had hurt- And always felt alone,

For every kid who has sat up at night crying- Wishing that they were gone.

For anyone who has ever read a poem- And didn’t understand what they were reading,

This is “The Life” on a sheet paper- When we write our words are bleeding.

This is for those who has ever felt a feeling and had no way to express it,

This is our story written in verse- This is our dealing with it method.

So here it is people- For you to enjoy- The new generation of Poetry,

Poems written with a particular flow-  Something I like to call Flowetry.

I loved the way you described poetry, this was a perfect definition.

Hey! I LOVED this one!! I have a piece with this title, but is a 'how I write' type piece, this one just blew the door off the hinges! An absolute pleasure to read! :-)
