I have an old friend named Pete

For breakfast each day, he'd eat

A bagel, if you please

With a little cream cheese

Without it, felt his day incomplete

Lately, Pete's been very upset 

Upset as a person can get

Emotionally, he's a mess

The cause of his distress?

Is someone stealing his bagels? You bet!

A bagel thief breaks through Pete's door 

The cops said they weren't sure 

Why the bagel thief picked him

Made him his victim 

And steal the bagels Pete does adore 

Knew I had to get involved 

To help Pete get this issue resolved 

A great idea, not surprising 

Plus, it's so appetizing 

Put some lox on those bagels, problem solved!
