Lester Holt is signing off
You know who Lester Holt is, news anchor, NBC?
He's decided to leave, he announced it recently
The folks at NBC, a decision they had to face
To hire, since he was leaving, someone to take his place
Some at NBC, couldn't wait for someone to come, uh
Even though Lester Holt's not leaving until summer
They felt they had to hire someone fast
Not somebody temporary, but someone who would last
Some executives, I think, they made a solemn promise
To find the next anchor ASAP. They did, his name's Tom Llamas
Maybe they were fearful the TV viewers, they'd bolt?
Or stage a revolt, in support of Lester Holt?
Since he announced he's leaving, has his viewership decreased?
Lester Holt's well respected, can tell you that at least
