No need to get contentious pipeline

Headline in today's NY Times:

'Debt Deal Includes a Green Light for a Contentious Pipeline'

I remember when my daughter was small. We got her an Elmo doll for her birthday. She loved that Elmo doll! She took it everywhere we went. She slept with it in her bed, you'd never see her without it.
If you would suggest to her to leave Elmo home if we were going out somewhere, she wouldn't hear it! Elmo had to go with her, end of story!

I'm reminded of those bygone days when I saw this headline. It looks like this pipeline wants a green light and it's not gonna do or say anything until it gets it!

In my view, it's ok once in a while to pacify whoever is need of pacifying, be it a little girl or a $6.6 Billion dollar pipeline. The cost of a green light shouldn't be that much. I used to use a red light years ago. It helped in certain, shall I say, romantic situations. It was not expensive and if we're talking about $6.6 Billion, hardly a drop in the bucket.

But I would caution against giving in to any demand this contentious pipeline wants. The taxpayers are the ones that have the final say. Don't let a contentious pipeline determine the future of greenhouse gas emissions in West Virginia!
