United Without Love

How is it that

Two can be so united by love

But yet,

Still fight

Argue

Breaking each other from the inside out

Using hateful words

That feel like fists

Punches

That feel like heartbreak

One minute together

Happy

The next,

Broken

At each other’s throats

Without reason

Blaming each other

For the bills

For the accusations

For the hardships

For the world that we live in

But really

The fault is the outlook

Not being able to see in

Looking around and seeing darkness

The dirty window covering

The light behind the glass

Both peer in

But cannot see

The perfection inside

A relationship unraveled

Love, boundless, but tangled

Hearts strewn all over the ground

Being trampled,

Stepped on

With no one left

To pick them up

Together without a bond

Loving without feeling

United without love
