My Truest Friend

Folder:
Memorials

Standing by his casket, I remember it so well.

The day my life went to hell.

As I cried a pool of tears,

I realized this was the biggest of my fears.

For the one that I cared for so much,

Has passed away, his body I can no longer touch.

The one that made my childhood so bright,

Was lying in a casket, that very night.

My grandpap was special, I loved nobody more,

In my mind, his memories I've stored.

It feels like he left me just a few moments ago,

He's been gone for a few years though.

Standing by his casket, I cry another tear.

Although I miss him so much, he had a horrible year.

He suffered from pain, his breaths were few,

He was ready to go, everybody knew.

Grandpap, if you can see me, I just want you to know,

I love you so much, you're memory I'll never let go.

I can't wait until I get to see you again,

You'll always be my truest friend.

I am sure you grandpap is so very proud of you.
This is a nice tribute to a man who's been a kin
and a friend.

Best regards.
